1. What is the normal turn around time for an order?
The turn around time depends on the order, in all cases we get the job done as fast as possible. For an average job, the turn around time is 2-3 business days, but it all depends on size, quantity, availability, etc. We always try to meet any of your deadline requests.
2. What exactly is Computer Cut Vinyl?
It's just like it says, basically it's a big sticker cut out of adhesive vinyl to a shape (like a letter or a silhouette of a bird, etc.). After the vinyl is cut with our vinyl cutter, the image/letter is transferred to various materials such as vinyl banners, signs, vehicles, etc.
3. What is Vector art?
Vector art is like line art. If you'd put a pen on a piece of paper and draw. Circles and squares are simple vector images.
4. What is a Raster Image?
Raster is more of a photograph, with gradients, soft meshes, textures, etc. Not just spot color sharp lines. You could not cut out a raster image. Raster can be 1,2,3, or 4 colors which makes the entire spectrum (CMYK, RGB, ETC.).
5. What programs let me save in vector formats?
Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw are the major vector software programs out there. Photoshop can export illustrator paths, and some other programs are also able to export their paths to illustrator file formats.
6. When do I save a raster image, and when do I save as vector?
Vector is the file format you use when the image is made with paths and fills. It's the only format you can cut vinyl from. Raster would be used for photos and all miscellaneous images.
7. How should I give you my artwork?
It all depends on what kind of product we are producing, if we are doing a 1 color vinyl sign/banner the best format is Illustrator, in most cases if you can give it to us in Illustrator format it's usually the best, even for an ink jet or Gerber Edge print. If it's an ink jet print it's ok to give it to us in .TIF or .PSD format.
8. How can I get my artwork to you?
In most cases you can email your artwork to us. Most vector artwork have a small file size. Rastor artwork is usually a large file. For raster art, we suggest saving the file as a .jpeg and sending through a third party company - wetransfer.com. This website will allow you to send up to 100 MB file.
9. What's the largest file size I can email you?
You can upload a 10MB file directly to us. Or, you can send a 100MB file to us through a third party company - wetransfer.com.
10. Are your products weatherproof?
Our standard vinyl banners last about 3-5 years, but we've seen longer. You can buy heavy duty banner material or high performance vinyl to extend the life of you banner. All of our vinyl banners are weatherproof (rain, wind, snow, etc). We use UV resistant inks allowing our vinyl printed digital prints to last for up to 2 years without lamination and up to 3-4 years with high performance vinyl and lamination.
