HOW TO APPLY VINYL
Vinyl images/lettering come sandwiched between transfer tape and a waxed paper liner. The transfer tape, on top of the vinyl, has a very low-tack adhesive that is used to keep the image/lettering pre-spaced. Vinyl should only be applied to a clean, non-porous surface. The smoother the surface, the better the adhesion and the longer the vinyl will last.
1. CLEAN THE SURFACE: Use glass cleaner and a dry cloth. Dirt and dust particles will cause the vinyl image/lettering to bubble.
2. POSITION: Measure and align where you would like to apply the image/lettering and secure with tape. Make sure that it is positioned symmetrically.
3. HINGE: Once you are satisfied with the position, apply a piece of tape across the top of the image/lettering creating a hinge.
4. REMOVE BACKING: With the tape functioning as a hinge, simply flip the image/lettering up and carefully remove the backing paper from the transfer tape.
5. APPLY: Pull the image/lettering taut and apply the sticky side to the surface of your material. Firmly squeegee to force air bubbles out. Start in the center and work up and down, left to right. Be sure to go over all areas firmly!
6. REMOVE TRANSFER TAPE: Remove the taped hing at the top of the image/lettering. Then carefully peel away the transfer tape. If you notice small bubbles, use a push pin to puncture the surface, to release the trapped air.
